Softgel Co is a privately owned, FDA registered, Colorado-based contract manufacturing organization specializing in the softgel encapsulation of CBD oils. We have been a market leader in testing, formulating, manufacturing and encapsulation of hemp extracts since 2013.
Softgel Co. has over 7 years of dedicated CBD experience working with numerous forms of hemp extracts (isolate, distillate, full-spectrum, broad spectrum) and carrier oils to produce safe softgels, sprays and tinctures. During our 7 years in operation, we have manufactured over 200,000,000 CBD softgels.
Softgel Co’s State-of-the-Art Facility is:
22,000 sq. ft. total
8000 sq. ft. of climate-controlled Clean Rooms
5000 sq. ft. of first floor warehousing
5000 sq. ft. of second floor storage
Our state of the art 22,000 sq.ft. facility is GMP compliant and we will have both our GMP and NSF certification in 2020.
A majority of the products we manufacture consist of a hemp concentrate (extract or distillate) combined with a carrier oil (and occasionally other ingredients). All CBD must be received with a Potency lab test ONLY, per cGmp regulations we are now required to pull 10g for a full panel test (Potency, Microbial, Heavy metals, Residual and Pesticides) off every batch, a $478.00 fee.
Customers have three general options for how they choose to source and provide these raw materials:
Our standard softgel (size 8 oval; 0.5 ml fill volume). While the theoretical yield per gallon is 7,570 softgels, we factor in a 7% production loss, giving an expected yield of 7,000 softgels per gallon. The minimum order quantity for softgels is 4 gallons, which will yield approximately 28,000 softgels.
We offer several sizes of softgels on our two machines:
We can manufacturer color softgels in bovine on our 4 inch machine.
We price all our softgel manufacturing by gallons, following these breakdowns:

Certificates of analysis (COAs) for each product they sell. A certificate of analysis (COA) is a laboratory report regarding the contents of a product. In the case of CBD, a COA will include cannabinoid content and other tested compounds, such as potency, residual, microbial, heavy metals, and pesticides. COAs ensure the customer knows exactly what is in the product they’re purchasing. Not only does this create transparency, but also ensures that the product contains exactly what it claims. A 2017 study found that almost 70% of CBD products sold online aren’t labeled correctly, having either considerably less or more CBD than advertised. CBD manufacturers should offer the most recent COAs of the products they provide. See the PDF link below.
We require COA’s for all oils and isolates coming from accounts and suppliers. Softgel Co sends out for a COA for all oils and isolates. This testing cost is reflected on your estimate and final invoice.
White label products come’s packaged in a softgel bottle or tincture bottle, but with no label. We call this ‘white label’ We do have the label templates for the products that we will share upon purchase. The customer will bear the final responsibility for making the graphical modifications to the label template, printing the labels, and applying to the bottles.
White-Labeled Available Products
Want to build your own brand? We can Private-Label certain products. Simply give us your label and we will handle the rest. The end result is a shelf-ready retail product with your brand.
Cannabidiol, abbreviated to “CBD”, is one of approximately 115 “phytocannabinoids” naturally occurring in hemp (cannabis) plants.
Cannabinoids are a diverse group of chemical compounds naturally found in the human body (endo-cannabinoids) and also in cannabis plants (phyto-cannabinoids).
Cannabinoids interact with receptors of the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) in the body to restore a normal state of healthy balance.
Terpenes are the primary constituents of the essential oils providing the scent and flavor of the plant. They may also have other functions such as protection of the plant.
The Entourage Effect results when the many components within the hemp plant interact with the body to produce a stronger influence than any one of those components alone—it’s a synergistic effect.
In chemistry, to “isolate “means to separate (a substance) into its purest form, free of other compounds. Isolated CBD is pure CBD without the presence of other cannaboids or terpenes.
Full Spectrum is often used to convey that the whole plant was used, not just stalk or stem. Whole cannabis sativa plant contains 480 phyto compounds including cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids and fatty acids.
It means that it has the benefits of full spectrum without any of the concerns of THC. Broad Spectrum is a term our supplier coined to define a CBD extract that has concentrated levels of CBD, with no detectable THC.
